Phillip Anderson

Welcome, and thank you for visiting ‘Band Tune Up Solutions’. I hope that I will be able to help you bring out the colour and emotion in your musical journey.

My musical career spanned almost 38 years and was highlighted by my appointment as the Director of Music for the Royal Australian Navy from July 2002 until January 2012. As the Director of the Navy Band I had the privilege of leading 220 musicians stationed in seven detachments across Australia. Together, we completed 32 international deployments at sea and on the international stage. During my time at the helm I had the opportunity to restructure the band and reinvigorate its contribution to Navy and the nation.

I enjoyed the good fortune of commissioning numerous musical works and producing 19 compact disks, which included nine symphonies and many contemporary and traditional wind band compositions.
